Of kohlrabi and slugs

We have been trying to grow kohlrabi for a number of years now. Most years the actual sphere was quite small - between a golf ball and a tennis ball. This year we had a German visitor, as part of the local town twinning group coming to lovely England... She told us that her husband wrote his diploma dissertation on how to water kohlrabi! Since then we know that there is almost no 'too much', and for the first year ever we have watered the plants at least once a week - pair this with some rainy weather we have had, and it means that this year's plants look slightly bigger (think a good-sized fist). The slugs seem to like them too (note the 'dent')... We'll harvest them soon, and we should report back.
