Two of the things I like: strawberries & Cage

Actually, this is a bit of an odd title for a post: I like strawberries and I like Cage, of course: caging the strawberries was meant to deter the pigeons and squirells. We bought this cage from a company as a set of metal pipes and plastic connectors - oh and the netting - , and were quite happy that the construction went smoothly. Sadly, this year didn't yield a very good crop, but we might just need to start removing some of the older plants and work harder on "capturing" the runners of the plants - as such young plants normally tend to produce fruit in the following year. Note to self: must do this next year! CHG
