scary carrot-bunnies

I couldn't wait any longer and decided to dig up the carrots today, so here's a picture of our harvest. They are supposed to be multi-coloured, and this lot are orange, yellow and white. There were supposed to be purple ones too but evidently they stayed in the seed packet! There is only one rude carrot...

And *finally*, after doing not very much for most of the summer, and being attacked by rampant slugs, we have finally got a couple of sunflowers actually flowering! In late September / October!! They are only about a metre high, but at least they finally flowered.

The bee obligingly stayed on the flower while I took the picture!
