the acer tree does its autumn thing

The acer that we planted in the spring is now showing its autumn loveliness. Not quite as red as I'd hoped for, but still nice, and I guess the redness is partly weather-dependent like it is for other trees. If it gets redder in the next few weeks I'll take more photos!

Oh, and we harvested the single, rather unimpressive, aubergine of the year. (Though we haven't eaten it yet.) I started the plants off much too late, and then it wasn't warm enough for it to really get going, so we only got one fruit. Nice colours, though.
