Reviving this blog again

Reviving this blog again with: we can't see the trees in front of the bushes. ;-)
Thanks to help from Colin (thank you again, if you are reading this, Colin) this contraption for growing a pear tree as an espalier was up and functioning in no time. Last weekend Claire had to cut this young pear tree, to force it to grow sideways - traumatic, but we hope it has worked. Anyway, if you look carefully, you can see green wires going accross - between the two "massive" posts.

The other tree we planted is a cherry tree, and it is in the area of the garden, which I somewhat unlovingly call the "bottom bit". It's roughly half-way between the massive cooking apple tree and the next apple tree, hopefully that will work. If not, things might be less fruitful than we hope for. For those with beady eyes: the branches at the far sight of the garden/tree are a "fallout" from Claire and I trying to prune the existing apple trees. We will hopefully manage to shred these tomorrow.

Unusually for me, I'll try to keep this short, but have taken several further photos today, so hope to write more in the coming days and weeks. Documenting our gardening "adventures" in our "new" garden and house... stay tuned...
