Before, during and after the rain I - things to do with rhubarb

This is the first post in a mini-series. We somehow haven't managed to blog for a couple of weeks; and we have been trying to fit some garden work into the Monsoon-like period some people in the UK might otherwise call late spring, or early summer... Well, monsoon without the wind for most of the the time.

Anyway, rhubarb. Just to show you that you can't only eat rhubarb, but you can also use it to hide behind, or hide things from view. We have a massive amount of this plant, even though last year I cut at least three plants down with a lawn mower, as I thought that the Head Gardener had said that she didn't care about this plant. It made mowing easier...

So, whilst the rhubarb chutney is cooking in the kitchen, and the Head Gardener is looking for further recipes, I'm watching the rain and have just thought of writing this post. More posts to come soon, as a lot has changed in the garden! This was due, in no small part due to a gardening stint by Dr. Lewis - many thanks, not only for all the weeding and replanting of flowers, but also for the evening hours. :-)

Sub Gardener.
