bushes and birdies


Not too much garden activity this weekend because the weather was once again flipping freezing :-( But we did plant out the currant bushes we bought a couple of weeks ago: one redcurrant and one whitecurrant:


















And for those of you who know our garden well, yes, we are indeed doing a crazy digging-up-the-lawn type thingy, in order to get more interesting plants in. It looks a bit weird at the moment, but it'll hopefully improve.

Clemens also took some nice pictures through the kitchen window of some cute little blue tits that were in the plum tree and around the (soon-to-be-dismantled) barbecue:


Finally, in seedling news: the tomato seedlings got frazzled :-( I think they got too hot in the propagator on the sunny windowsill, so all but two keeled over. I've had to plant some new ones. Lesson learnt. One of the cucumbers keeled over too, but the other one seems to be doing okay - fingers crossed.
