Purple sprouting broccoli takes aaaaaages to produce the edible bits. These are last year's plants - only just now beginning to sprout. And we've also just discovered that the b***** pigeons have taken a fancy to them and have been munching away. Hence yesterday's construction of a net thingy.... (I'm not quite sure how we're going to get in there to actually harvest the PSB, but we'll tackle that problem later....)
