Strawberry fields, not for ever

I have been writing about growing strawberries on this blog before (for all posts, see http://marigoldgarden.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/strawberries). From the previous post, Keep on running..., you will know that we had decided to cull the lovely "field of strawberries", take runners and start a new bed somewhere else (there were not many fruits to harvest this year, and the bed had become too crowded).
Cleared 'strawberry bed', 2010-2014, August 2014

Most of the runner plants, strawberry plants for 2014-2015, are now in their new bed - which used to be lawn, in the bottom part of the garden:

We will report back in June-July 2015...

  1. Thanks for the update! Now if you would just kindly tell me when to come eat the strawberries, thank you very much.

    1. Sorry, just found this comment of yours. It's difficult - we haven't had enough strawberries for a while. Maybe next year? (This year's harvest won't be good enough to share much!)
